This week it is my pleasure to direct you all to one of my favorite blogs, The Merry Gourmet, which is written and photographed by Merry Jennifer, a truly delightful woman who is so generous and warm, it’s impossible not to smile when reading her posts.
I’m incredibly flattered that MJ asked me to do a guest post for her site. I’ve always enjoyed the recipes that she’s posted and was thrilled that she wanted me to contribute.
So, now, go check out my guest post and the full recipe for these Brown Butter Rice Krispie Treats.

Heading over to MJ’s blog now! Happy Wednesday, Brian
Thank you again for your wonderful post, Brian. I can’t wait to finally meet you in person one of these days.
Flour is one only two cookbooks I treated myself to this past year, especially after you raved about it, and I haven’t been disappointed. Love your photo (at MJ’s site) of Eric gobbling up a treat just like a kid.
Yum, heading over there. Fantastic photos as usual!
Great pics! Heading over to check out the post..
Brown butter? Now that you have my attention…
These are beautiful! Heading over to the blog now to see more!
Those sound fabulous! Off to check her blog~
Heading over now! I love brown butter and I love rice krispie treats, so I know this will be an awesome post!
Headed over now!
Browned butter in its simple, yet sophisticated profile will not only satisfy my adult palate, but make the kid in me smile. I can’t click fast enough to get to MG!
MJ is most fabulous and I can’t wait to see her again at Blogher. Love these pics, so I can’t wait to check out the post….
2 of my favourite people joining forces!
I checked out the recipe yesterday and it’s killer!
Brown. Butter. Is there anything better in this world?
Made these recently too. A-mazing!
The last picture with you breaking apart that treat is amazing! Great guest post.
Theresa
These bring me straight back to my childhood too. Lovely guest post, Brian!
Just loved reading your guest post over at The Merry Gourmet… These rice krispie treats look beyond delicious!
mmmm, these look so good. I’ve experimented with puffed brown rice and that worked really well too. Brown butter sounds so scrumptious!
Brown butter. Rice Krispy Treats. You should see my post about my daughter’s 17th birthday this year. Yep…at her request, it was rice krispy balls for my big girl. Such an iconic American treat.
The simplest treats are often the best. And there’s no way I would part with any of these yummy rice krispie treats!
Will do! I love adding browned butter to my dessert recipes, so I know these will be scrumptious. Thank you for sharing with us tonight. I’m sorry I’ve been absent these past few weeks. Your blog continues to bring me joy, and I’m very happy to return to it. I hope you have a blessed week, my dear friend. Hugs from Austin.
Oh, what a great idea!
I love these! Super!!
MMMnnnn. . . I loves me some rice, even when it’s crispy.
O, chasquear, crujir, saltar. . . ¡Pim! ¡Pum! ¡Pam!
Hmmm – these treats could not look any better. But then I never expect anything less of you.
