{Silent Sunday: Buvette}

I’m a sucker for all things charming. And a Parisian style cafe is at the top of the list. I was first taken to Buvette in New York City a few months ago. We split a bottle of sparkling wine and sat at a table for a couple of hours, just chatting and giggling over silly things. Recently, I was brought there for breakfast and I just knew I had to get a couple of shots. The crepes were as good as I’ve ever had (we tried one filled with nutella and it was at once both decadent and light). But the real highlights were the breads (the one we had contained walnuts and cranberries and was soaked in butter and honey and topped with bee pollen) and the hot chocolate (it is most definitely creamy, but not thick and sickeningly heavy as some cups that I’ve had).

What a great looking space! While it’s not in Boston, I was happy to see it’s in NYC. It’s nice to have a review from a space that hasn’t been all over the Times! Merci, merci!

Great spot! This is exactly the kind of place I’d spend my weekend mornings at, eating tartines and sharing a laugh.

This looks like such a perfect little European feel place! I’m keeping this one bookmarked, I’d love to visit. :)

This place looks amazing. I could sit and eat pastries, drink coffee, and people watch all day!

Your photos are beautiful and I wish I could just dive into a mug of that hot chocolate right now.

Brian, you captured Buvette perfectly!
It’s quickly become a favorite of ours, too…any time of day!

You were meant to photograph it, and Buvette was waiting for you to take its pictures.

xoxo

Just lovely, Bri. Brings me back to Paris. Love the photo of the bicycle. Next time we’re in NYC, this is where we will eat breakfast.

Oh my, oh my. Brian! This place is incredible. I’ve been missing NYC so much lately, and this confirms that I need to be there soon :) . Gorgeous images–I love the bike! You did an incredible job of bringing us into this cafe–I got goosebumps with that sort of pull back shot of the space, and I felt like I was almost there. Thanks so much for sharing xo.

This is proof that I need to get out more. How have I never heard of or encountered this cafe?

That tartine has my name written. All.Over.It.

Mnnn. . . I loves me some Buvette, or at least I think that I would if I knew what it meant.

La vaca llorona

La vaca está triste,
muge lastimera,
ni duerme, ni bebe
ni pasta en la hierba.

La vaca está triste,
porque a su chotito
se lo han llevado
los carniceros
al mercado.

Está tan delgada,
la vaca de Elena,
que en vez de dar leche,
da pena.

I have ALWAYS loved how you capture WARMTH, Brian! It’s a welcoming feeling for the viewers to look a little closer and enjoy the details of your photography.

I’ve never been to Buvette, looks charming! I must try one of those tartines. I rarely go anywhere new in NY, so this is helpful :)

Lovely shots, Brian. My favorite is that first shot on the right. I love that pop of orange against the white and the rest of the frame.

naomiJanuary 17, 2012 - 9:38 am

I’m going to NY this May, you make me want to go Buvette. And I’m pretty sure you need to re-create those tartines in your kitchen-just say’n.

Beautiful photo set-great mood.

Buvette .. love the name. I love the light that streams through the windows in places like this!

Just gorgeous. Can I please meet you for a cup of coffee tomorrow? This looks beyond perfect, my friend. You are too good. PS. Will you send me an email…I want to buy a good camera. I just have a point and shoot now. Let me know what you’d recommend. Hugs and love.
